Never Put Trash Cans in These 3 Places

For a household to enjoy peace, prosperity, and good fortune, many contributing factors must come together.

Just as people are connected by fate and relationships, the interaction between people and objects also relies on harmony.

When everything aligns and resonates positively, the atmosphere of the home naturally becomes harmonious and smooth.

The elders often say: “There are three places in the home where trash cans should never be placed; keep them away, and the household will thrive.”

No matter how big your house is, never place the trash can in these three areas.

It’s about energy and atmosphere — not superstition.

1. Don’t Place It at the Front Door

The entrance is the main pathway into and out of the home. Some families, for convenience, place a trash can near the door.

This, however, is considered a taboo in traditional home arrangement.

Our ancestors believed: “For the household to be peaceful, the entrance must be kept clear and clean.”

The “hall front” refers specifically to the front entrance.

Placing a trash can at the front door gives people the impression that the home is unkempt.

If even the entrance is messy, the condition inside the house can only be worse.

The entrance is like a person’s face — if someone is disheveled and untidy, others will naturally avoid them.

On the other hand, a clean and tidy entrance is like a beautiful and pleasant face — people are drawn to it instantly.

Clearly, a neat entrance attracts more visitors, builds good relationships, and naturally brings prosperity to the home.

2. Don’t Place It by the Bedside

When it comes to the bedroom, it should evoke a feeling of warmth.

With soft lighting and a cozy atmosphere, the bedroom allows the body to rest and the soul to unwind after a long, stressful day.

The bedroom is where we sleep and recuperate. Its environment silently affects the quality of our rest.

Some people frequently suffer from insomnia or restless sleep. Often, it’s due to an uncomfortable environment that prevents the body from truly relaxing.

Especially placing a trash can beside the bed — not only does it bring odors, but the sight of discarded waste can disturb one’s peace of mind.

According to the laws of the universe, everything is interconnected. Just as the flap of a butterfly’s wings in the Amazon could set off a tornado in Texas two weeks later.

So when changes happen right in our own space, even the smallest shift can trigger a chain reaction.

That’s why people say: “A clean room is good feng shui.”

A tidy room lifts the mood; a clean bedside brings sweet dreams. So, if you want a good night’s sleep, start by cleaning your bedroom.

3. Don’t Place It in the Hallway

Some homes are designed with an entryway or foyer between the front door and the living room.

This adds aesthetic value and separates the space nicely.

The intention behind this design is good. However, if the homeowner doesn’t keep things tidy and leaves clutter — especially a trash can — in the hallway, it goes against the rules passed down by our elders.

In traditional belief, the hallway represents the “life flow” of the home, similar to the blood vessels of the human body. When blocked, it causes discomfort and illness.

The home environment works the same way. If garbage clogs the passage, even the most luxurious hallway design is meaningless.

Life is like a home — a trash can might seem insignificant, but if neglected for too long, it becomes an obstacle.

A small issue today, if left unresolved, may escalate into a serious problem that affects one’s destiny.

That’s why the ancient wisdom goes: “In times of peace, think of danger. Preparedness ensures safety.”

In daily life, never overlook the little details. Only by preventing small problems can we avoid major troubles.
